The My Girl diamond is a rare and special cut. It holds and international patent, and therefore is only cut by a very specialised selection of master cutters.
A uniquely rare and special gem, The My Girl diamond can only be cut from a very specific shaped rough stone that is scarce in nature. The My Girl is cut from a stone that in its rough form resembles two juxtaposed pyramids, an unusual natural phenomen in itself.
In order to achieve the perfection of fire, brilliance and scintillation that the My Girl diamond is synonymous for up to 50% of the diamond's original weight can be lost. The nature of the My Girl cut is so technical that it requires a master cutter with superior skills to achieve the ultimate level of perfection, and there are only a very small handful of craftsmen in the world who are able to cut the My Girl shape, making it all the more rare and sought after.
